My resolution for this year:

- learn PHP
- advance at JavaScript and figure out what's so cool about react.js
- be a pro with SQL and learn PostgreSQL
- build couple cool hardware projects with Raspberry Pi and Arduino based on C.

Would like to do the same except learning PHP

Learn php than move on straight to laravel.

Thanks guys. I want to know PHP because of WordPress, Joomla and Megento but will definitely get into Lavarel.

@k1rushqa oh god no. No, no, no, no! Did I say no already!? Wordpress, Joomla and Magento are a perfect example of awesome CMSs for a client (familiar frontend with easy access to everything).

However - they are also a perfect example of why most people facepalm when you even mention PHP. Most of the stuff "under the hood" is a huge mess.

Laravel is not that easy to learn at fist - but once you do - it spoils you with all the goodies available and it's pure awesomesauce.

As long as you keep in mind WP and the like !== PHP, you'll be fine.

As previously mentioned, pick up a modern php mvc framework and welcome to the club 😄
