These are probably stupid questions but I have to ask.

So does it usually take long for people to get back with you after you apply (if they were to be interested)

And are contracting positions worth looking into as well for someone trying to build professional experience?

Yes, I've had calls come in 12 months after applying "are you still interested"

Then you spend the next 5 minutes trying to work out who they are and when did you actually apply 😩

If you need some hussle money, go freelance for a while, nothing wrong with that.

All positions are worth looking in to, what do you have to lose?

@C0D4 that’s reassuring I suppose 😅 is freelancing as tough to get positions for?

@nibor yeah you got me there

Had a good one where I got to tell a company I had already taken a better job with better pay... 3 months ago.

Was like, tbh you could have had me if you didn't take 4 months to get around to getting back to me, but thanks for not because it turns out your HR department isn't even the worst thing about you.

@Bubbles probably not at the moment, a lot of places that laid off staff will be looking to hire contractors to fill some voids.

Just find yourself a good consultancy firm you can be recruited out from.
These places are the typical goto for companies before advertising a role.

@C0D4 I’ll keep that in mind thanks!
