This hurt me so deep. Feel hopeless. He want it fast , 2 Apps for iOS and Android ( that means 2 for Android and 2 for iOS) in this short time with overly complex requirements (as in the documents).

Omg. ...

    Whats the job market like for a software developer there?
  • 11
    @craig939393 @craig939393 one word. Complicated. I regret to work for a local company, I should just have to option to work for a foreign company instead.

    Working with a local company here in Malaysia is practically same in India , low pay , high demand and extreme unrealistic expectations.
  • 3
    @rutee07 they pay me 4000MYR after bonuses (which is 1000usd I think....)
  • 27
    Start searching immediately. They've just proved they have no loyalty to you as an employee, so make sure you don't show any to them. When you've found work elsewhere, give as little notice period as possible, and don't worry about handover.

    If they'll fire you immediately to find a more useful employee; it follows you should bail immediately to find a more useful employer.
  • 6
    @frogstair @AlmondSauce actually I already start searching.... I don't think so I can tolerate this employer.
  • 16
    If it were me, in the UK so different circumstances, I would have quit as soon as I read that message.

    However with 10 minutes to come up with a sharp comment better than 'Thank you but I prefer useful employer. I quit.'.
  • 10
    Oh wow what a cunt
  • 2
    @craig939393 So nice in the UK, in Malaysia we have to comply the rules like give them 3 months notices.
  • 2
    Good luck finding the right job, that place is bad and time wasting.
  • 7
    What an awful person. Bet he feels powerful and important.
  • 2
    @gitpush well I just wasted 2 months. Yes I just join newly , because my previous company no longer in business due to the lockdown in my country.

    By the way during lockdown I am forced to go to the office work for 16 hours.
  • 3
    @johnmelodyme you better find a replacement before your probation period ends or you'll have to give notice and waste more time there.
  • 3
  • 2
    3 months?

    That's 480 hours.

    This seems like a reasonable timeline for delivery of two native apps.
  • 1
  • 7
    @HiFiWiFiSciFi It sounds like FOUR native apps.
    Also, you can't say it's reasonable if you haven't read the requirements.
  • 5
    "We prefer useful employee" ~ you useless piece of shit. Also love how you will be "immediately fired" if you can't commit 3 mo. In advance to a hard deadline without knowing how many changes and revisions they will request

    @HiFiWiFiSciFi maybe for a QR code scanner and a random quote displayer app, yeah.
  • 2
    @wifi the requirements is something like this.

    CSRMesh , a complete clone of SG lighting app and Plejd. For the SG app have dozen of hidden features.

    Also the app must have the feature can on and off light from away 32Km from the smart device.

    And recently he added that I have to do the server side and database as well.
  • 2
    @webketje Even when I design the UI in Figma. They start revise for the 5th time , so many changes.
  • 1
    @johnmelodyme So some BLE and IoT features and some DBA?

    I'm standing by my previous statement then.
  • 2
    @webketje QR scanner is a feature. It's well documented. Shit could be done drag and drop. (I wouldn't because I'm better than WYSIWIG... but still)

    Add camera access... take picture... there's build in functions for OCR and QR...

    I could have you a QR scanner app developed for both iOS and Android by this afternoon, and have it on their respective stores by roughly next Wednesday.

    For an extra like hundred bucks I'll throw in OCR to PDF because it happened to be right there in the documentation and I was bored.

    If it would take you 3 months to return a drag and drop QR app... you're going to have a hard time in this market.

    "I don't care about anything"

    "Glad to hear money is not an issue! Simply hire 35 additional devs (payed in advanced ofc) and you'll have the apps as requested."

    (But in all seriousness, you should quit.)

    What language is this

  • 5
    "I prefer a boss/client who is not a fucktard"
  • 1
    Tell him I'll do best I can, start searching for a new job, get the paycheck for work you did until 15th of March and after that wish him best of luck looking for useful employee
  • 0
    @HiFiWiFiSciFi forgive my ignorance, I only do web apps. I assumed getting apps approved in the app stores was more time-consuming. But still, for more complex apps I imagine a lot of margin should be included for back and forth between customer-developer.
  • 1
    Geez, 一方面 I'd tell you to just rush a crappy job, specially in the UI, just to "barely" meet the expectations to fulfill the contract 另一方面 I know that, if I were in your shoes, I'd exploit myself doing everything they ask me to do as best as I could, chugging on coffee and sugar, just to get some money and sense of stability during these days.

    Anyway, 新年快樂!
  • 2
    So your company does official communication on whatsapp?
  • 2
    @samadds ...yours doesn't? Maybe it's an Asian thing. WhatsApp and WeChat are called "professional tools" over here
  • 1
    @eo2875 可是大哥, 老闆每一凌晨三四點來電說什麼APP要擁有什麼輸入。身體不適,生病了。
  • 0
    @eo2875 my WeChat group is even crazier. Or the dingtalk group.
  • 2
    Hope you didn't put in to much time already. Seriously fuck guys like that!
  • 2
    @johnmelodyme 淩晨三點啊?!你們在不同時區嗎? You must at least tell them at what times they can contact you,睡觉的时候要关手机了。 Bad sleeping habits will only harm you and your productivity
  • 0
    @eo2875 我們住同一區域, 我和我的同事被老闆威脅了多次, 如果我和我的同事咱兩人不接老闆的來電,下場就不可思議, 可能被開除吧...冤孽呀~
  • 1
    @johnmelodyme 哎呀... my condolences. 盡快換工作吧
  • 1
    How can they fire you if you havent been hired yet?!
  • 0
    @JFK422 Huh?
  • 0
    @eo2875 正在尋找, 在我國找工也是一種的挑戰。😂
  • 6
    Threatening to fire you and calling you useless all in one text. Classy.
  • 6
    If it isn’t illegal: lead them along, collect your meager pay, and provide some code progress, but really instead of killing yourself to meet their imposed deadlines, just keep looking for a better employer.
  • 2
    Do nothing all these month get the money and run
  • 2
    Best of both worlds...get a new job offer and say your start date is just before March 15 😊
  • 1
    @d-fanelli what? Hahaha
  • 1
    @johnmelodyme nah seriously don’t do that. I like being a total dick lol
  • 2
    This made me sad. You deserve better.
  • 1
    @nanl I considering searching for another job.
  • 1
    @johnmelodyme Well I thought that he made you an offer to make his apps. Like contract work. Not that you work at his company.
  • 2
    @JFK422 no. I am the employee
  • 7
    Look, you have time until 15 March to find another job. Then, on March 15th, you can leave after the commit of all your hard work, that will be a simple readme.txt file containing this:

    ....................../´¯/)
    ....................,/¯../
    .................../..../
    ............./´¯/'...'/´¯¯`·¸
    ........../'/.../..../......./¨¯\
    ........('(...´...´.... ¯~/'...')
    .........\.................'...../
    ..........''...\.......... _.·´
    ............\..............(
    ..............\.............\...

    Good luck

    That chat is fake right? He didn't really say that
  • 1
    @mastro35 brilliant! 😁
  • 2
    @Hazarth Sadly some people can be real pieces of shit and his boss is one of them lol
  • 0
  • 0
    @Hazarth fake? If I can record what he told me in WeChat Call I would.
  • 2
    @Hazarth try working in my country you will face this one for sure.
  • 1
    Make them a web app, there are online webview generators for android and ios.
  • 0
    @mundo03 But the app have to Related To CSRMESH(BLE)
  • 1
    @johnmelodyme then good luck :D
  • 5
    Before you leave, contact his boss and tell him that this (screenshot) was the reason why they didn't get their apps. If they treat people like shit then this is exactly what they'll get in return.
    Otherwise they'll blame you alone and that guy won't suffer any consequences.
  • 1
    Reminds me of my previous employer. My mental health is 500 times better after switching from that job.
  • 0
    We prefer to kick your ass you soab
  • 0
    @workabit Why? What I do?
  • 1
    Why would you be hurt because someone was a dumbfuck. Tell them to get fucked and find a better client.
  • 1
    @hashedram hurt because I need the Money for my job?
  • 0
    @johnmelodyme if someone offers me 1000 bucks a month to build two different mobile app I'd tell them to go finish masturbating before talking to me.
  • 0
    @antran22 but if you in my position of having financial issue , you probably you rephrase . No offense
  • 4
    @johnmelodyme it is this line of thought of you that give employers the false impression that developers are magicians who can pull out a codebase from thin air when tossed a coin. We work as hard as any other profession. If our effort are not respected, the employers can suck a fat dick and search for another mule to carry their shits.

    Please, have respect for your own expertise and well-being.
  • 1
    @antran22 Sure. At least I am already out of there
  • 2
    Jeeeezus. Job searching with a vengeance then?
