Notable thing here is they have this stake in Kia for a self driving offering presumably.
Do I want a Kia? Not particularly, I've driven Lincoln MKXs for like 20 years and it's kind of my thing now.
But... a self driving Kia Sorento level car with seamless integration to my phone/watch/earbuds...
I'm not driving very much these days, and I want a self driving car, so maybe I might consider it. Better be Kia price range and not Apple thousand dollar fucking Monitor Stand price range tho...
To the other question, I will get rid of my other Apple shit when somebody makes something better. -
Depends, but no, I would not drive their cars, i am married to two brands that have never let me down
-
10Dev28994yI hate Apple, but I do have an iPhone SE2 sitting on my desk right now, mostly because most of my family uses FaceTime and iMessage to stay in touch, and switching to something else would be a huge hassle
tl;dr I'm locked into the Apple communications ecosystem
P.S. I would never buy an Apple car. Never -
Maartz22914yI’ve ditched the products... to fully pass on Linux (Btw it was Arch).
Got a new position in a new company, they use MacBooks. So I’m again in the loop.
For the car, idk, maybe if I want to drive one I’ll to fake my death to get the assurance money. So I’m not really sure... -
I’n with @Cyanide and @HiFiWiFiSciFi - I’ll switch once there’s something better. For work tho, as long as I’m were I’m at now, Apple products are the only ones that make any sense.
For the car, I see no reason why not, long as it’s in an affordable price range. What essentially matters when deciding whether or not to purchase their car are the same things that one ponders about when investing in a car generally speaking. Doesn’t make a difference. -
C0D4681384yI have and iPhone.
I have a Kia.
I mean.... it would make sense 😎
But I probably wouldn't buy it just because Apple was behind it though, well not the first series anyway 😏
It's an interesting offer though, and if anyone could take Tesla on... Apple would be a good bet. -
donuts238484y@Cyanide yes maybe devs aren't the best people to ask this to.
But basically what is Apple's future and well can I expect it's horde of users to had around and keep buying at the same rate... For at least the next 37 years (current P/E ratio) although even that's too long too...
Honestly the big tech companies feel boring these days, hard to see any doubling in size/income... So stock prices even more boring...
Not sure why Amazon price doubled still... it's P/E is and was insane... -
@donuts guess that depends on what’s affordable by your standards. Quite a many of their products are affordable in my books.

donuts238484y@100110111 for phones
$400 decent
$700 hi end specs
Guess depends how what portion of Apples users are unemployed now and not considering ditching it or skipping the next upgrade cycle. -
kiki353264yIf alternatives emerge which I’ll feel emotionally better about, yes, I’ll probably drop apple. Car? I don’t need a car.
-
The iPhone SE 2nd gen is one of my phones. I only use it because of its form factor and because it has no notch.
Once Apple stops supporting this phone (without releasing another one without notch and with the same form factor), I’ll be done with them.
