I feel dumbed down. I can't understand a simple sentence told by others in the meetings. It has to be made very clear. While others understand things pretty well I struggle in this. I try to make a picture in my mind but most of the times it is hard.
Anyone felt the same ever? What did you do to recover yourself?

    You might have aphantasia.

    Try to write it down (text and/or some type of diagram).
    It might help you.

    I also can’t properly get something until I can visualise it.

    In my new dev role I've discovered the existing members talk like I have a foundational base of knowledge I don't. Especially because the system I deal with has different interfaces connecting to it that I don't deal with but other team members do. I'm spending a lot of time trying to learn this stuff but my company also documents NOTHING! Now I feel like I'm taking up a lot of the time of my coworkers, but I'm at least trying to write this stuff down for the future hires, which then takes up a lot of my own time. It feels like a vicious cycle.

    @intoleRANT that's something heroic you are doing there. Keep it up :)

    @pmso Sounds like an exaggeration.

    People talk absolute nonsense. I’m always asking them WTF they are on about.

    @platypus But my senior seems to always get them.

    I have same problem as you. Sometimes my brain just doesn't work. People tell me stuff, and I sometimes forget them straight away.

    It was worse, when I first started working, since I'm not that social guy. It did get much better for me, after a while of social practice.

    But I'll also agree, that some people literally talk trash. They talk a lot, while they say very little.

    @WildOrangutan What do you mean by social practice? Is it being socially active?

    @true-dev001 I guess, by talking to people, having meetings, etc. You can basically often get better with more practice.

    @WildOrangutan Yeah, I think listening is very important but sometimes I really struggle understand. I should ask questions in those cases instead I get overwhelmed with the anxiety.
