Iwanted to create a website like freelancer, but the customers choose the dev instead of the dev choosing his employee. Do you think its worth a shot?

I believe its a good idea...
Some customers(specially the paranoid ) will love it because they don't have to reveal their idea untill they have chosen the dev, right?

Search for the problems in the old implementation and offer solution

And don't invest heavily until you get confidence from users feedback

@linuxer4fun lucky! I wish I could run one from my computer. I suppose I could run one on my raspberry pi but then all my patience would be for the server to load.

Nubelo is a Spanish site recently acquired by freelancer and it's pretty similar to what you want. But customers need to give info on their project. You could get some ideas from Toptal too.
