Can you find the control panel and do many of the functioning windows look like windows nt ?
  • 3
@marcus5914 Free to be forced upgraded? Just like last time.

@marcus5914 repeat after me, "if it's free I am the product"

@sariel either that or Microsoft has basically given up on squeezing profit from windows and it now focused on its services like Azure and Office365
  • 1
@10Dev if that's the case everyone should sell their shares of Microsoft now.

A business that's not in business to make money will not be in business for very long.

@sariel I know that and I understand very well. And with that understanding I use windows 11, gmail or Facebook.

@MadMadMadMrMim the old control panel is there.

@sariel also since you have to buy windows 10 license , it's not technically free.

@marcus5914 it's ok, just keep feeding that monster until it owns you.

Remind me, how many data breaches has Facebook had in the last 5 years?

@sariel I don't know. Mostly I use facebook for dank memes. I stop posting the person life on social media. I think I have posted more personal here comapre other things.

I use those because there are no other alternative.

@marcus5914 there's literally nowhere you can hide from Facebook.

Dominos, Pizza Hut, Home Depot. You cannot use their online ordering unless you unblock Facebook APIs.

By having an account, you only make it easier.

Microsoft is no better, especially with some of these new "improvements" in W11. When it becomes mainstream you won't be able to hide anything you do on your devices.

@sariel I am not trying hide.

Also we have already fed the monster and they already owns.

@sariel also does ublock origin blocks the Facebook api on Domino's?

"- really liked the animation. It feels smooth. "

I only hope there's still an option to turn off all this useless gizmo. What I'm really missing since the Win10 is the gray "Redmond" look with all the fancy graphics and animations turned off.

    I like it too.
-The UI is really a step up across the board, new font is sharper
    - the search is faster,
    - I like the docking, undocking (especially on surface)
    - new sounds are a nice touch
    - touch experience is a bit better for the first time
    - window arranging method is nice
    - no longer a vertical black column with notifications etc. I like the slim panels
    - the new store is so much better

Start menu is okayish, miss the live tiles a bit.

    Widgets are stupid

All in all 7.5 out of 10 so far, which is quite impressive for a first dev build. I already prefer it over w10

@marcus5914 not sure I'm blocking at the DNS end with pihole and have a blanket ban on every Facebook domain and subdomain.

I have to disconnect from my local connection to order or sign into those places I mentioned.

If I disable the Facebook rules it works no problem though.

Also, I haven't had a Facebook account since 2008 and actively fuck with Google's metrics with a script.

If I can't have privacy through nonparticipation, I'll make so much noise they won't know who I am. If enough of us do it, their metrics will be worthless.
