Can it handle the legacy shit I work with every day?

I'll let you know if I ever get the invite 😒

If you can get replaced by it, you were never useful

@theabbie LoL that makes no sense.

@-red Can a random kid from high school do what you're doing now just with Copilot? If yes, would you still consider yourself useful?
  • 2
@theabbie yes, because copilot can bring in some pretty useless code examples. So although the code will / could work, you'll still need to check it and verify it's right for the use case at hand, after all it's predicting what you want to do based on a comment.

@theabbie You said “were never useful”. That would mean they were not useful despite having been used already.

@-red Maybe poor wording, I meant, You were never doing anything useful, or just doing worthless stuff.

What I saw is that it can write code if you know what you want to write.

Well you still need to know what you want so it saves at most 5 minutes from 55 minutes of my work and only if it’s right. I can save same amount right now by writing intellij code templates lol.

It probably won’t work with low level network stuff, html and css so it’s useless for me.
