nitnip18143yHe could lie/bluff and say they're offering him more at another place. Maybe add some fluff about how he's
"Saddened because this company is a great fit for me but the other offer is really good for me." or something.
He shouldn't have negotiated for any less than his current salary (unless he was absolutely desperate to leave his old workplace) -
pandas25263yHe can do the following, which worked very well for me and a friend of mine too.
He needs to reach out to this new company and tell them (better if in person or over the phone) that he just received an offer from another company that is higher than the offered salary.
He should say something like "I'm not trying to negotiate, I really like your company and the position and I had no doubts about joining. But now, the difference in salary is very big and I really don't know what to do. I think I need more time to think about this ... I really need to figure this out. Do you have any suggestions? Did you have cases of candidates in the same situation as me?"
Basically at this point is asking for help to solve this situation.
At this point there will be 3 possibilities:
1. The new company can afford to offer a higher salary to him. That's perfect.
2. The new company cannot afford to pay a higher salary. They'll tell your friend that unfortunately they can't help him. -
pandas25263y3. They retract the offer. This will be a shit and coward move from them as your friend was basically asking for help. In this case, if they are really this assholes, good for your friend that the offer was retracted.

A friend of mine told me about his new job and his salary, it is lower then in his previous job. After i told him that this is not good and the negotiated salary in general is shit he wants to talk about it again with them. The interview process is done but he didnt sign the contract till now, right now he is waiting for it.
What do you think would be the best approach to get more money in this moment ?
