How do I exclude most non-programming related posts from my feed?
I don't want to see Facebook-like topics about weather and housing in my Devrant client.

I know I can use the toggle switch to exclude tags - and I have excluded some (like Jokes/Memes) - but the non programming rants keep coming.

Any tips on more tags to ignore?

You'll have to exclude the humanity... or use advanced AI, which is harder to achieve in short term.

PS: To be clear not saying I want pure cofe.
I feel like "work related topics" like office politics, the dev job market are relevant.

I just wanna get away from the most obvious non-dev-specific stuff like food, pets, love, weather, etc.

Exclude joke and random categories, I guess

Ideally you'd use the tag system, but it never really gets used properly anyway (and it's also not exactly obvious which tag is for which.) That's your best bet though if you want to do at least *something*. Most of the "look at my cute puppy" posts should really go under random.

I tend to just order by most recent. People tend to upvote topics of "lowest common denomination", ie things everyone can relate to.

Hence Facebook being full of baby/wedding posts.

    1) Turn off joke/meme category
    2) downvote as not for me
    3) subscribe to people you like and use the subscription feed.
    3) goto 2

After a while the devRant algo will create a bubble of content more tailored to you, just remember this can not be undone so your bubbled lens becomes an impairment if you grow old of the bubble.

@C0D4 you can always switch to "recent"

@iiii I do, but the algo acts differently between recent and algo and subscribed it's like a different sorting and filtering for each 🤷‍♂️

@C0D4 recent does not create a bubble. there's no filtering in recents.
