    I feel like there should have been a hyphen between the first two words and it bothers me on some level that there is not.

    @AmyShackles

    You mean there should be a hyphen between the last two words.

    You install it into your underpants, it prevents butt sweat. The premium models even come with an odor reducing HEPA filter.

    @Ranchonyx sure bro.

    There are multiple perspectives to any Indian festival and there could be overlaps between each region, religion, and community for any Indian festival.

    Diwali is primarily for lord Rama who returned home after killing a Demon lord, Ravana in Sri Lanka and freeing his Kidnapped wife. He was sentenced 14 years of jungle time by his father. It's a whole complex story and there is a super interesting animated movie on 90s which you might really like as well.

    It's a week long festival runs on Moon cycle. The 12 day is Wagh Baras (Wagh == Tiger, Baras == Twelve). I don't know the significance of that day.

    The 13th is Dhan Teras (Dhan == Wealth, teras == Thirteen). Widely misunderstood these days as wealth meaning money. But back in days and now, it means cattles and living wealth through which farmers grew crops because India has been an agricultural land.

    @Ranchonyx Then comes the spooky one and always happens around Halloween and that fascinates me a lot. It's called Kali Chaudas (Kali == Dark, Chaudas == Fourteenth) also called Narak Chaturdashi (Narak == Hell, Chaturdashi == Fourteenth again). The 14th day of Moon cycle. On this day it is said to be the day of the spirits. Quite an environment. We don't do anything specific but it's a spooky vibe for real.

    15th is the Diwali when lord Rama reached his home. The last day of Hindu calendar.

    Next day is Hindu new year and today is Bhai Dooj (Bhai == Brother, Dooj == Second day of the cycle since first was new year).
    Brothers go over to sisters place for lunch and spend family time and give her gifts or money these days. Similar to Rakshabandhan (another major Indian festival).

    We light oil lamps, decorate houses, neighborhood, lobbies, exchange gifts and sweets, roads, streets, shops, everything is lit with lighting. People buy new clothes and wear traditional ones.

    @Ranchonyx on Diwali there is a major event of Chhopada Pujan which means worshipping ritual for lord Laxmi (Money goddess) and Ganesha and Sarswati. Primarily Laxmi.

    All businesses do that. And burst crackers post the ritual. Homes also do that.

    And before Diwali, Indian households and small shops and every possible entity does a deep cleaning of their place and it's a nightmare for every child because they get ragged a lot. Lmao

    Businesses pay bonuses to employee which was in early days, one month's extra pay. Could vary though.

    Basically it's our Christmas and most widely celebrated festival of the nation.

    @Ranchonyx glad that was helpful.

    I'll link the mini animated movie. Found an English version.

    The demon kind Ravana was said to have 10 heads on a single body.
