lexxer7158yOh yeah, SO WELL done... but HE wont get shit done in a productive way the next weeks because he probably didn't give a shit about Linux before... but it's sooooo cool to be a programmer using Linux right? Just. Let. People. Use. What the fuck they want.

lexxer7158y@Jop- yeah, I can imagine how that 'show' looks like... "switch to linux, it's so much better than windows, omg how can u work without command line, here Linux has a package manager blah blah blah..."
-
@lexxer well that depends it is 100% possible to make linux look better than windows with things like conky. I have had people ask about my desktop cause I went the extra mile to add transparency and other things to my laptop. add the fact that I just run pacman -S program and they go ape shit
-
lexxer7158y@jckimble just shows how fucked up people are... change the OS because of a shitty CPU/RAM/whatever monitor? No, just no...

I introduced this guy to Linux (had to use it for the project, not much choice) and he was like 'fml'. Now he doesn't want to switch back because of the freedom it offers 😀

@drRoss The fact that you can use/modify/distribute the system if you'd like to. When you look at Windows and os x (or, macOS) you can see that you are not allowed to use their systems in any way you want (including modifying it to suit your needs aka reprogramming it to whatever you'd like) since those systems are not open source. With the majority of Linux systems you can/are allowed to do this.

drRoss48808y@wolt I use Windows and I don't feel caged.
I'm very picky about who I give a ++ to. It has to REALLY impress me. -
@KnightsOfCode while I agree I don't see why showing other options is a bad thing
-
@drRoss I see your point. But, not feeling caged does not mean that you can do anything with a system that you'd like
