    I scrolled past this rant too many times before I realised you were talking about the 💩 browser. I thought you were on a safari.

    I only use chrome and brave. I don't use Safari

    So it still exists?

    Too bad, Apple refuses to beat Google in the browser market.
    They actually could win the hearts of their user by completely killing the current Spy/Ad business without harming their own business model.

    But they would need to have a browser for that...

    On iPhones and iPads it’s the default browser and the one that is predominantly used on those devices

    It’s pretty good now actually.
    Now it has extensions and more in terms of telling you what is being tracked.
    Also being able to open tabs currently being used on other Apple devices. Just the syncing of many things with Apple is good.

    @adamjkeith as a user, maybe.
    as a dev, it still deeply sucks.

    @-key oh yea totally agree on the dev side for ease of use and extensions safari isn’t great. However the safari dev tools are pretty good anyway.

    Personally I would use as many browser applications as possible when developing web stuff, it’s the only way to be certain websites look great no matter what browser the user is using.

    @Oktokolo they have new feature in icloud that hides your ip when you browse internet from safari or use email. I use it on my phone.

    @vane
    I meant the "manifest 3", where they (probably mostly Google) decided to make the background page of extensions just reload and lose all state. Surely it is better to rebuild costly state every five minutes than to just spend some MiB to keep it in RAM...

    @Oktokolo yeah but I think problem is laying somewhere else. First is how big chromium project is or even any browser source code size, second is that leading browser is not community driven project but corporate one.
