Sweet lord jesus I fucking hate React! I hate whatever those idiots at facebook or whoever decided to change how everything works 15 fucking times in the span of 4 versions. For fuck sakes, the errors are shit. The documentation is shit, the answers to questions are useless!

I hate this fucking framework with a burning passion, I want nothing more than to shove the entirety of the populous that developed this garbage up zuckerburgs ass and then drown him in a vat of boiling piss and motor oil.

Fuck react.

That's exactly why I hate both react and angular.

It's like all the ADHD JS devs got onboard with both protects and just RFC'd it into the fucking dirt.

It’s not a framework! But yeah.. I get your point. It frustrates me sometimes, too.

I’m a Vue dev, so I’m contractually obligated to agree with you.

@AvgCakeSlice tell me the worst thing you hate about vue.

@sariel Wait, Angular is quite stable in its compatibility between major releases...

@PonySlaystation not when I used it last. They had a HUGE paradigm shift.

    Nothing but a pita

    Come to the Vue side

@sariel You mean from 1 to 2+? jk

@PonySlaystation no lie, that's probably when I used it last.

Left such a horrible imprint on me I'll never use it unless I'm required for a job.

I would rather dust my eyeballs in popcorn salt then deal with anything angular ever again.

@sariel you know, I just realised… people hate Angular the same way they hate PHP: because of something that used to be. And I get it. The early days of Angular (or PHP before 7.0) left a real bad taste in your mouth, which is hard to wash off… but imo Angular has come a long way, and least it seems to be quite stabile between versions.

Oh, and let me tell you the worst thing about Vue: that fucking huge paradigm jump (or whatever it was) between Vue 2 and Vue 3. It seriously fucked me up when the composition API was just so different from the legacy options API. However I’ve heard from my colleagues who are still working in projects where Vue is used that once you get used to it, it’s actually pretty neat. I haven’t touched any frontend (at work) in year and a bit, so…

@sariel Then why even judge Angular?
You know, Angular 1 (= AngularJS) and Angular 2+ (just Angular) are COMPLETELY different frameworks.
I added the "jk" because I didn't think you'd mistake those two... I can only blame Google though. They should have named it differently...

@PonySlaystation I didn't mistake the two, I fully understand that they were two different frameworks.

I didn't hate it because of anything other than the way they transitioned from major version to major version. It was such a pita to find ANY docs on how to use A2. Even their own docs were wrong many of the times.

AJS1 on the other hand had plenty of community help and clear cut documentation.

I understand the why's of releasing a major version, I just can't stand the how they released it.

And then there was the whole A2 vs A3 because of the router fiasco, which by the way made finding documentation even more difficult.

It was around that time my boss quit, we didn't need to deliver the product anymore, and I vowed to never use it again unless required.

My problem isn't the way it functions, it's the lack of support they showed the community, and that's something you just don't get over.

You are very good at descriptions.

@Cyanide library* I was angry at the time.

    @TurtleTheDev I understand 🤝

@100110111 you can still write Vue 3 using the options API, it’s what I do, but yeah, that’s what I would complain about if I really had to put a finger on anything that bothered me. I still love it though! Great framework, IMO.

react is a fucking joke. In fact the only reason i have devRant account is because i have let this anger out somewhere. I have been trying to get a decent Angular project for 3.5 years now. but no success.
the bugs in react the useeffect having 3 different uses for the same hook. infinite renders everywhere. hipster third party libraries because you can use anything you'd like. Dataflow overcomplicated. I think CTOs only think react is Great because Fb moderates anyone who says otherwise
