This time my colleague, is abbreviating "cumulative" as "cum" in a variable name, and now I have to control my 6th grade humor...

@theKarlisK In reality, you'd encapsulate. Even PHP devs try to simulate that with their handkerchiefs.

I would fail that in code review, if for no other reason in case you ever get a boss that would have issues with it.

I just enjoy when people can't spell and it shows.

Just be glad they aren't being totally stupid and naming a var with the first letter of every word that represents it.

we also got such typos... someone named their variables "somethingCockie" instead of "somethingCookie". and in years, nobody bothered refactoring that, even newly added code has the same typo... xD #yayconsistency

@LotsOfCaffeine don't see why. Not everyone that speaks English even knows about cum. Avg, prod, sum and cum are often used in aggregations.

Don't forget the Latin honours:
Cum Laude (once saw that misspelled as "cum loude". Context is everything.
