To the coworkers who won't read this -- If you have a question to message me, type the QUESTION ITSELF. Don't coyly request permission to ask me a question because you're worried you'll bother me, that just turns it into TWO questions. Let us put an end to saying 'hey, can I ask you a question' and then virtually walking away.

    Do you have a second to answer a simple question about how to ask you questions?

    @phoooooebe I second that

    If this is a big issue for you;
    how about making this issue known.
    Set it in your status line or something.
    Or write a bot that auto replies and marks it as read it something (depends bit on the messaging soft capabilities)

    I soo agree to this!

    At work I have the policy that they can just call me and if I dont pick up or dismiss the call that means i do not have time.

    And they still message me first "can i call you?" :/

    @swagnette I already have the link to nohello in my teams status, but didn't know about don't ask to ask - thanks!

    @hjk101 I already do this, and it helps, but... You can't fix stupid 🤷🏻‍♂️

    @alturnativ yep ignorance can be fixed by education. For stupid I find putting them down is the kindest we can do.
