How does devrant make money?

@hyvte I never understood this argument. Even as a student you need clothes. Just buy a hoodie from them instead of buying a new one from another store. Problem solved.

We make some money off of the swag store, a little off avatar virtual goods, and less off collabs. While we do lose money every month on server costs and giveaway items, it's not too extreme, we're fine for now. Have been brainstorming on business models though, if not direct money from devs, but maybe indirect money that flows around you like SaaS products or hiring fees.

If anyone has some good ideas for making money off a niche community of professionals (and students), we are open to suggestions. DevRant would get a lot awesomer if we could afford to focus full time on it :)

@trogus Some sort of premium like Reddit gold seems good to me. Few bucks a month for whoever is interested.

It's just amazing to see that people really care about the founders and how the community is supported. Good sign! :)

@Mvzes no i cant afford it. Make some in app purchase for ~1$
