Had anyone experienced with an impatient boss who require you to complete the project in the month you just recently got hired?

Here's the story, I recently got hired by a company, joined on 1st April 2022, the boss expect me to complete the app for Android and iOS by the end of this month. (An e-commerce applications exactly like shopee.com) Without providing me the Backend ApI , that they mentioned. They just gave me a and expect me to know what's happening at the backend.

He require me to give him a specific date that I can launch the app to play store and Apple store. (From my experience, it take days, weeks or months). He need a milestone of what I need , did , and will do (which predictably that they will reject any new ideas proposed) .

I even considering to quit, but I need opinions. Am I just too sensitive or there's something wrong?

You'll have to use some tools like Shopify or other e-commerce end to end solutions to get that done in 1 month; that's unachievable otherwise. Tbh it might be unachievable with 1 month but could be done if you choose the right solutions

I think these are very bad signs. Wherever i started i had one month or two to get onboard, get used the code base and so on. When they even start with this amount of pressure, unrealistic expectations and disrespect there is not much of a chance for this ever becoming a workplace you won't hate. If you want to play fair, quit instantly, otherwise slack off, work slow, let them eat shit at their deadlines and wait until they fire you.

Take a day to break the work down into various tasks with time estimates. If it adds up to three months then so be it. Better to get the tension out of the way now.

From scratch, do you mean "zero"? Maybe you can find some template, but make the backend too? And the apps, wtf, at least they gave you the layouts or just said "we want a shower in one month" kk quit the job and make it for you, if it is possible to do in few months then Im going to quit my job too and make it to concurrent with them πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

I had it better, got hired and discovered they wanted the whole e-learning platform with payments integration, distributed tasks processing, scores bookkeeping, progress bookkeeping, events monitoring, caching, stress testing, integration and sync with a legacy platform which would eventually be decomissioned etcetera. done 3 weeks before I joined.
