I feel like devRant is now a study experiment to test how long a software can run without maintenance and how long people are willing to keep using it.

I stand by the opinion that the apps should be made open source. And if there is proprietary logic, break it out.

    German here.

It will be used forever. Never change a running system is a religion here.

If someday devRant goes offline I am sure someone will create another one with blackjack and hookers

@ScriptCoded would be great if it was open source and maybe put the project in community hands

@iiii add nodemon as a dependency and it will run until the end of time or billing time, whichever comes first.

I think that a community of IT people is very understanding and kinda tolerates the crashes.

It’s like when you see a toddler trying to walk the first times, you don’t say ‘F*ck it’s broken’
You say ‘Aw! It’s so cute! He is trying with all of his strength’

We all know what it is like to be invested in a project and accept its downsides
