Agree it's inappropriate, but disagree on the college grad comment. Especially with colleges now, you're more likely to get insane stuff. Like they might not ask you to help hook them up, but they'll probably scream at you for not using the right pronoun and talk about how you're their oppressor.

@zlice I was married and working at a tech company in the 90s. Some gal kept hitting on me in the clean room. She came up and jabbed me in the side trying to be "friendly". I hunched over and said: "Oh...my colostomy bag...". She never spoke to me or hit on me again.

Yeah a college degree is honestly more of a risk factor than a guarantee in my opinion.
Plenty of college kids trained by their frat bros to be absolute pigs. They'd just be less upfront about it.
I think the problem is more with the fact that the general trolling and filth of the rest of the internet leaks onto some platform/gig work websites. Upwork is not the worst, but also not immune to internet insanity. -
OMG! Frankly speaking, I have received even more such offers from the guys on upwork :(
-
Wasn't Upwork meant to be a high quality freelancing platform that had actual standards?
-
It really depends on where you are. I'm in the UK and would say that, that question is definitely inappropriate and weird but not a result of not having an education. Even the sex education in high school doesn't cover much on that topic but further education doesn't touch it.
-
@b2plane well... that's why you can report people and attach the chat history. or mention it in the review

Probably in his mind he considers himself a gentleman, he says “ml”, “making love”, no “f***” or other expressions 🤣
-
I agree its inappropriate, but what does a degree has to do with being unprofessional? Should I stop working after 9 years just because I don't have a degree?
-
Come on, man, not everyone has a degree and there’s plenty of people who have learned how to not be an absolute gobshite never having attended higher education. There’s also plenty of people who have higher education degrees who are still, nevertheless, absolute gobshites. Formal education has nothing to do with it.
-
@PrivateGER I will be that guy again: when you introduce devs from other nations into the platform(s) that are willing to work for basically NOTHING....then you can expect the platform to have 0 standards
-
@AleCx04 this really says to me theres a market for platforms targeted at specific countries or regions.
-
kiki349482yI have an idea
Send him the pic of my legs
He’s gonna ask me out
We’re gonna go find a room
And then… -
DarkSwan582yI have had guys asking about someone to marry. I don't know whether to be concerned about their living conditions or else.
I hired a guy on upwork. His english is shit. But hes done the work correctly. Fast forward today he asked me "off topic question but do u have any female friend who can accompany me to fuck?"
WTF IS THIS SHIT
That is not professional AT ALL. I dont give a shit about the fact he cant get no bitches so hes begging me as if im some kind of a pimp. On upwork?? Gtfo.
Now i understand why companies want to hire only people with college DEGREES because they have went through the process of conforming and dont ask stupid shit questions. Eliminates a lot of bullshit and Neanderthals like this guy
