Definitely Git, Node, Composer and PHP at the moment.
It's fucking incredible how you have such tools for free.
The younger generations have it much easier to get into programming.

I truly believe there should be a free professional tool for everything to encourage learning. Just the idea that Adobe was holding a paid monopoly on image and video editing is sending shivers down my spine.

We need open source, multi-platform, pre-built tools for everything, and it's the FOSS community that makes that possible and truly moves people forward. If I wasn't pirating Photoshop and 3DsMax as a kid I would've never even get close to graphics and... I'm still Amazed that a tool like Visual Studio Express was for free at that time, which is probably what truly moved me forward in software development the most!

Back in my days we would walk barefoot under the scorching sun to get our punching card supplies, then back to work on them, and then back to run them. And if you fucked up enough you had to do it all over again. And we liked it!
