If they hire you for expertise/opinion and then choose not to listen, just take your check and wash your hands.

Same here. Hired (and paid $$$) for the 20 years of knowledge, experience and skills I bring to the table only to be told they decide to go ahead with ex-developer-turned-senior-manager Bob's 90's approach to software development. Waterfall and all.

Wolle9152y@horus Well my recruiter told me to give them a chance, and with every interview they sounded better and so far it is a pretty good company. They probably put something in the tea (100% remote today). I also think they are the exception.

Wolle9152y@horus Send me an E-mail to wolle@nxt.awsapps.com I'd rather not disclose my employer on devrant ;-)

Wolle9152y@horus Did you got a bounce or something? The E-mail doesn't show up, which might be because of AWS Workmail.

I am currently working as a consultant and I like it. It also makes upset/happy/schadenfroh (not entirely sure how I feel about it) when we tell the client what work needs to be done in which order and why just so they can throw it all overboard and we do it the way they want it and it bites them in the ass a few month down the line.
They hire us for the external professional experience that we bring, so listen to us. We did this before, we know what works, and we know way your way does not work.
