Trying to learn 10 finger system as a gamer, fucking WASD was burned in my mind for a long time already...

Yeah, I never bothered since I'm pretty fast at typing anyways, but I'm hoping I could get a little faster like this, for the long run
Ah yeah also to stop looking at the keyboard

Now I'm curious, what do you guys type like?
If that makes sense

    Is that a thing? As far as I know, I use all my digits?

    Apparently this does not fix into the tags:

    @dfox Pls fix :P

    @drRoss I mean, theres a way of typing where you map your fingers to specific keys and bee more efficient and stuff
    Try searching for 10 finger system

    ~70wpm

    I use a QWERTY keyboard and what I believe is the standard typing set with all ten fingers resting on home row
    (asdfjkl;) between strokes

    @tisButABug that's what I'm talking about
    But I'm Swiss, so mines qwertz

    Fucking autocorrect corrected qwertz to qwerty...

    I use all 10 fingers... And I use wsd as my home row. Fuck them and their "right way" I'm getting 80-90 wpm

    @tankerkiller125 so, should I learn "proper", learn my own abbreviation, or stay with randomly typing?

    I only use 9 fingers. 8 fingers on the home row and I press the spacebar with only one thumb ;)

    All 10. I learned typing on a manual typewriter (querty) in the stone age. Muscle memory did the rest. Even coding I can type without looking at the screen with minimal errors, because my fingers have memorized all the key locations. I'd be screwed if I changed keyboard layout.

    To be totally honest, it blows my mind hearing not all devs use home row. I've tested at ~100 wpm myself, it's excruciating sometimes watching people type.

    Type however is fastest for you. But don't get mad if I ask to take control of your keyboard or I'm gonna lose my mind. Omg@find and peckers

    Well, I'm trying to learn it, that's why I'm asking if it's a good idea

    If you'd really ask for my keyboard because I'm too slow, you should try sitting next to my sister, my father, or my grandmother (who is surprisingly good with computers after I showed her)
    I am like IT-support for my family, so, yeah, I ask for the keyboard sometimes

    @aile11 learn whatever works best for you. Overtime you'll get faster with it.
