@tahnik I know that some isp's in some countries are already asking more money for the use of WhatsApp

@linuxxx I mean if the follow up of charging use of whatsapp will be soon seen in India, that will be rough for us
-
@sam9669 Well, that might change soon anyways due to court cases with the Indian government against whatsapp for privacy violations so yeah :/

@linuxxx This would conpletely ruin the internet though, and make it impossible for innovation and new websites, it's just not realistic
-
@SpectralKH And its highly probable that it will happen since in murica providers can already sell user data :/
-
@linuxxx I have big hopes for the future anyways, looking at the open source revolution etc

You know it's not like internet is free or something... We pay for it with our personal data

Dear Americans pls don't crash our immigration site again kthx -
Here (Brazil) is the opposite. We have net neutrality, but somehow, the mobile net operators can offer websites that doesn't count as traffic data.
So you have a maximum of 1GB of transfer for 1 month and sites X, Y and Z traffics aren't counted for these 1GB. You can access them for "free".
While it is not the same as the advertisement you posted, it keep people using the same sites/services as they are "free", and do not want to try others, even if they are better.
If net neutrality is not maintained this is what "yearly internet plans" will look like
