@dfox I remember you once mentioned in a comment that you bought a macbook pro 2016 is that correct?
If so may I ask how's your experience with it so far? worth it for programming? Touchpad too big or did you get used to it? Are the ports making you trouble?
If you were given the choice to go back to previous macbook pro (2015) would you do it?
(Mobile dev here) -
t3b4n1248yI think it depends on your budget. If you have money to throw at the screen, go for the 2016 version, because you'll need extra money for adaptors or docks.

I'm starting grad school, I want to buy Mac for iOS development. How good is the 2016 version MBP with i5 processor 8GB RAM for iOS development?

dfox428278y@Revenger good memory. I did get one. I really like it. No complaints. I develop on it 95% of the time with only the power cord plugged in so ports are fine. Touch bar is useless IMO. Big trackpad is very nice.
For me, since I bring it lots of places, by far the best new feature is the smaller size/weight. It's a pleasure to carry around and noticeable easier. -
BashJS11567y@dfox I couldn't afford MBP16, MBP15 is in my budget and I'll also get all the ports. But is it worth buying MBP15 now? (in 2017) or shall I go with SP/hp/dell .... ?
