How surprising, but flagmanship search engine company can't fucking handle their redirects correctly.

    Just have to be sure
    Nothing personal haha

@vintprox I don't think this is a broken redirect. 403 is access forbidden, in this case intentional because of geoblocking due to sanctions.

@Wizard1997 The idea behind sanctions is to make people unhappy enough to sooner or later get rid of the government that provided the motivation for sanctions.

    Use VPN or Tor. Whatever.

But yeah, google is hot garbage dipped in diarrhea. They just smile and pretend to be nice.

@Fast-Nop kinda weird coz people are always powerless in a situation where the government is not democratic. anyone can use vpn than raising arms against the government.

shouldn't the blocking of device ip for government officials and institutions be much more effective?

@dotenvironment I'm not sure what's going down in Iran but the last I've heard about 5 years ago was that although the state wasn't de-facto democratic it heavily relied on religious fundamentalists who comprised a large section of society.

Populism calls to the worst instincts of people, but it's still driven by and requires the support of the public, even if not majority support. We don't have an effective means of combating populism, but in the former Soviet Union we see several examples of democratic systems regressing to a populist autocracy even after the leadership had been replaced so it makes sense to target the public instead.

However, general inconvenience isn't going to fix anyone's bigotry, nor will isolation from the rest of the world. "targeting" the public here should mean information campaigns, severing the routes of disinformation and propaganda, or some other goal-oriented operation, not this.

@dotenvironment You can't run any system, democratic or not, without the at least passive approval of the tacit majority. As they say, freedom is another word for "nothing left to lose".

Unfortinately, I think the correct response to events like this is what they call "Inshallah."
