@magicMirror it actually is a fairly new language, not really related to Java (except that both run on the JVM)
-
Pointer32378y@chalarangelo I haven't seen Kotlin enough to really say something, but it's functional approach it's what seems suiting right to nowadays programming techniques. OOP it's ok, it has worked, but it seems the future it's FP

Exactly :/ I don't get why the hell they made Kotline a language for Android instead of go.
-
@imhashir no need to write a new vm. Go is native, and android UI is java based. Go UI for android requires a huge amount of framework work before any dev will seriously use it for a full app stack.

rykuno1338y@chalarangelo Im an ex-android, current iOS developer. I can vouch that today is a good day, my friend. Awesome article on kotlin Kotlin Is Better - http://steve-yegge.blogspot.com/201...

@gurbakhshish you mean the overly verbose syntax, missing language features and the inconsistent naming are coming from the runtime environment?
-
Go would go to a different dev environment. Probably in android ndk where C++ programs run in as well
-
Golang can't be part of the JVM because it uses a different environment.Although I hope they could support bindings for Android NDK
