Looking the same doesn’t mean it is the same, take spaces for example. An OS that keeps improving in subtle ways is a brilliant approach and means things keep working. I updated my production imac yesterday. No issues and a solid reliable OS I rarely restart. Mac OS is way ahead of any other OS especially when in conjunction with M1 /M2…. Here come the Mac haters

But is that a bad thing if one ui element doesn't change each release?
Hell, I'd fucking love if companies kept things that work well instead of "improving" them with less functional wanky animations
Looking at you youtube app 😒 -
@joewilliams007 Is that a thing? At this point I'm convinced the app doesnt even update it's just some dumb webapp type thing. You blink and the entire ui changed, that's not an app update

kamen69252yMacOS is fine until you decide you want to customise something. You want to move that bar somewhere else? Nah, tough luck, Apple knows better than you what you want.

@12bitfloat well. I use version youtube (vanced ofc) 16.02.35 specifically because it has no ytb shorts. And i think youtube runs natively

@kamen yea. But good luck with win 11 moving taskbar aswell haha. (Fine there are workarounds). We all know theres just one usable os out there but i wont say its name now:D

kiki352822yThe amount of degeneracy in this thread is beyond my anticipation. I am deeply upset by all of you.

@helloworld macos is a pain to navigate and do things that are not intended by the apple overlords.
But it has quite nice features, such as this thingy, where you wiggle your mouse, and the cursor gets big, amongst other things.
In fact, i modified my linux install in a way, so it has some of these features aswell, because i liked them (like the dock instead of a task bar for example)
it's not black in white here, you can hate the company, but still like some things they did. -
Not getting Ventura, I own a 2016 MBP with the touch bar and shit keyboard but no notch at least
Ventura is out. Yet, the search panel to the top in Launchpad is still the same. It looked like this when I got my first MacBook, that 12-inch razor-thin one on High Sierra, and it looks the same now.
What a nice little touch.
