I want to switch from Window$ on my laptop to Linux of some kind and I need some c/c++ IDE. I thought about CLion but I want some of your's recommendations.

CLion, like all the other JetBrains tools, is a great IDE. I have used it for some light C programming in the past. The code analysis features are generally helpful and debugging is really easy.
It still needs some polishing, but I haven't encountered any serious problems.

    I can recommend KDevelop.
It's great. And it doesn't depends on Java 😎
I modded it to use vi input mode.
I dont run kde desktop, (I use xfce) but that's no problem.
My favorite distro for now is MX-16 (debian based).
    Give it a try 🤓
