Ctrl-w tot clear the console Line

Can you believe is was always using Ctrl-c to empty my terminal Line when mistyping?

And out of sheer coïncidence of closing all my tabs, is accidentally die this in my terminal window, and then in was like 'wait What?'

Ooo i need to try this

Ctrl+Shift+W to close terminal tabs

Ctrl+Shift+T open terminal in new tab

Or just Ctrl+D to exit terminals (tabs) without typing exit

Ctrl + Backspace does NOT delete every word just acts like regular Backspace :(

But Ctrl+Del acts like normal but does not delete char by char instead whole words O.o (I want this for backspace too)

Tested on gnome-terminal (mostly the same on most terminal emulators)

The ctrl+shift ones are probably gnome specific

@jackpearce alt+backspace instead of ctlr+backspace to clear the word

@devRancid Then you didn't added this to ~/.inputrc , best config i ever made:

"\e[A":history-search-backward

## arrow down

"\e[B":history-search-forward

@happygimp0 zsh already does this

@devRancid But ~/.inputrc is recognized by many other programs as well, such as Python interpreter, cgdb, vim, ... which normally don't have this behaviour.

@jackpearce The ctrl-shift ones are terminal emulator specific. I know Konsole uses them. But when you use something like tmux you don't need tabs in your emulator.
