Meeting with CEO went well I heard. Only thing he didn’t like that there was no permission level “worthy of leadership” (GUI options are view-only/worker/admin/super).

Keeping the existence of the the secret “god” permission to myself I proceeded to create the “executive authority” permission, which is an alias…

…for view-only. πŸ–•πŸ˜˜πŸ–•

That is the only safe option for CEO. Even then...

A permission level worthy of leadership should replace buttons with the name-cards of people who are responsible for the thing and therefore should have agency over it.

    you should have "shadow-view-only"

pretends that the setting was changed but ignores it.

    that's worthy of leadership.

@Midnight-shcode That's a real thing. Long time ago I fucked up as a junior and a whole compliance department was reading from a prod db but writing to a replica. Nobody noticed for 2 years. Finally I did and it turned out the diff between those two dbs can be easily automated. So I did automate it and proclaimed a great victory of making their lives so much easier. Then the whole department got reduced to 1 person.
