I watched a few reviews for the new nvidia RTX 4070 Ti graphics card. One question on my mind is: why is it so huge?

⏺️4090 is huge -> ok I get it, 450W power is a lot of W
⏺️4080 is huge -> ok I guess, 320 W of power is a still a lot of W; although it should be considerably smaller than 4090 (but it is not? why)
⏺️4070 Ti is huge -> 3 slots size for this graphics card? What the actual hell? This card is rated just 285 W. It makes no sense

I do not get it. The only explanation I can find is that the manufacturer got so lazy they cannot be bothered to design 3 different cooling systems, so they reuse the same cooling system on all graphics cards. RIP

Don't Repeat Yourself - doesn't just apply to software.

Is your next rant going to be about someone that is not a software developer thinking you are too lazy to write a function/program for each system?

There's an upside to that - the card is probably going to be pretty quiet.

I have a pretty overbuilt 3070 (the Asus x Noctua one) and under full load it's more quiet than the CPU cooler - also a Noctua - which says a lot.

@Demolishun in certain hardware, smaller form factor is better though. Good for air flow. Smartphonesand tablets going lighter with each generation.

@Demolishun Pretty sure they could reuse a smaller cooler from another card if they wanted to.
