Hello. I recently discussed the topic of online communication with my girlfriends. It's interesting that I'm the only one who hasn't used dating sites yet. Now I want to personally try to meet men who are on the Internet. At the same time, I will find out if it is possible to find a boyfriend online and start a relationship. And how do you think?

It's possible, but unlikely to lead to something long lasting. Depends on a chance really

@iiii Do you not believe in the success of this idea because you have a negative experience or are you just skeptical about online dating?

@Cynthia543 I'm sceptical about romantic relationships at a distance overall. Had my own experience which wasn't that bad but showed how that is unlikely to work in most cases.

@iiii Okay, I got it. Thank you for your answers. I will try not to have too many expectations on this topic. But I can't do anything about my curiosity.

@Cynthia543 I was sure that everyone has at least one account on dating sites for a long time. Now registration on such sites is as simple and fast as possible.

It’s a bother because half the people there are using it as a time waster more than anything else. If you go in with low expectations it might be alright. Also depends on which one you go for, trash like Tinder you should probably stay away from.

Tinder sucks. It's full of asshats who only want one-night-stand. Also online dating sites in general.

I think it's better for you to go out more often and join communities which allow you to meet more people, with the same interest.

I think I might be the only online dating success story around here.

I did meet my girlfriend on Tinder, but I suppose Tinder isn't all that popular here, so maybe that's why I had better luck with people there.

We're currently together for over 2 years, super happy, the love and passion is still going strong just as it was on the first date and we're already living together for about a year now too...

So it's not *impossible* to find someone you'll love using online dating sites. But it's a process, just like meeting with real people...

All I can say is that it works in some cases, you can absolutely build a real and lasting relationship through online dating. But it could take anywhere from days to years, so just be prepared for that as well

I found the love of my life at okcupid. It worked for me by being détailed in thé profile and having true honest conversations.

Been living with my SO 3 years already, bought a house together and still feel we made the right choice every day.

@Hazarth not the only one. I’ve been married for 6 years to someone I connected with via Tinder (we had met before, in a transactional setting however), and I also had a multiyear exclusive relationship with someone I met in Tinder before that (which fell apart due to our paths taking us to different parts of the world)

    @NeatNerdPrime great success!

@Hazarth Thank you for sharing your experience. I will remember your advice.

@NeatNerdPrime Yes, I read that the better I understand what I want, the faster I will find my man.

@Cynthia543 indeed. Just be honest about yourself, to yourself. You are at your best if you are yourself without the need for masks, right?

It takes a little bit of courage too dare to show your good and bad sides. Also in conversation with a potential love interest, don't shy away from yourself. Just be you, and if the other person moves away, then it's just a sign you haven't found your love yet.

Don't rush it. There is still time.

Love the person you want to love wholeheartedly, not the one you settle for.

@NeatNerdPrime what if yourself is a goblin?

@iiii then just be a nice goblin, that wants a goblin(a) and hope the goblin slayer does not have his eyes set on you.
