    Not only rust-programmers... i am so tired of my colleague proposing the PHP mess in another language on every problem.. yes it sucks, but how is this helpful? We don't have the powers to rewrite everything, period.

    @horus rewrite only the messy part, host it as a worker service, then invoke it from php?

    just don't do it in rust.

    @tosensei i think the messy aspect for him is, that it's written in PHP xD and not by him.

    There's also self-preservation...

    I am a C++ programmer primarily. I say this because I am a troll.

    The push for Rust in everything from all directions feels fake and plastic in a way that's hard to explain. Almost like it's a forced meme that people share ironically. The zealotry has really put me off the language.

    It's the new "just do it in jquery".

    @horus I agree. Bothers me when devs suggest grandiose ideas to other devs when it's out of our hands and management would have to allow multiple months for a rewrite

    Unless they are willing to bring it up with the PO as a Legit suggestion and are just trying to get the dev team on board..

    @cuddlyogre I wonder if those Rust zealots and actual Rust developers are actually the same people. I guess there are people working productively in Rust, and there's other people just suggesting doing so. (This is a bit ironic; I'd have to slightly modify the title from "Rust programmers" to "Rust zealots".)
