I think the report rant function should have a verification function. Like asking me if I'm sure I want to report this rant.
I just reported a rant I didn't mean to, because I wanted to mute notifications on it

Accidental reports are unlikely to cause any trouble unless a bunch of people do it on the same rant, so no worries.

A confirmation does sound useful though, could also ask what specifically the report is for (or cancel it). I'll add it to the backlog, thanks!
