I totally agree; the problem is all the real advancement of soft technology is generally done pro bono, unless there is a good business case for making money off of it, which is pretty rare.

Frankly I hate this shit system of corporatism we've created. We're all slaves to it. I mean shit, can you imagine how awesome it would be if we could actually afford to make a living writing the software we are passionate about?

I just look at how much of my creative and metal effort over the past 10 years that has actually gone towards something beneficial for society and it's staggering how little it is compared to the bullshit I am paid to do for someone else's interests.

We seem oblivious to the fact that we are basically forced to work our entire lives for the benefit of people higher-up the chain. Sure you can try to climb that ladder, but there's no ethical way to do that that I've ever seen. Our society rewards ruthless selfishness and exploitation of others and I'm sick of it.

I don't know how to contribute... I have not yet found a project in which to put all soul and body

@eisterman You don't have to contribute code. Fix grammar and spelling errors in the documentation. Write up a small tutorial about how to use it. Donate to them. Triage bugs and feature requests. Translate documentation and application strings.

This needs to happen asap.
