Hiring for my startup right now and this guy decided he's better than what we can provide.
Guy has maybe 6 or 7 years of college, "walked away from" a doctorate, whatever that means, and what looks like 2.5 years at a previous startup, 1 month as a freelancer on web development. But look out! He's beyond startups now.

Blocked me too... 😂

    Damn, what an attitude.

Edit: omg, also refuses technical questions. Maybe he expects to be hired because of his cute face

Always a good start with some rotten attitude when looking for work.

It'll be cool to see him competing at established companies like mc Donald's to see if he can flip burgers faster.

Oh dang finally a developer who grew some self confidence! Shit, what comes next? An union? Horrible!

On the contrary, it's good that he shows his attitude straight away so the HR can't regret their hiring decision later, isn't it?

I wont defend him but i get him
When I was job-hunting, the number of sketchy-startups I had to deal with was insane

"Oh we wont pay you rn, but you can have % of our company"

I eventually started avoiding applying to startups altogether -_- unless im sure they're seeded or funded well

Saying "Afraid I'm not looking for employment at startups right now" is fine. Chatting to people from startups but refusing to answer technical questions or show any code and having Zoom mysteriously quit?

Sounds like they were hoping to blag their way into a job with no validation, and realised they'd come up short so chose to pretend they were just "above" the job entirely.

@horus developers with God complexes enough. Didn't we all have one at some point?

After working for startups, twice, I can honestly say I refuse to even acknowledge their existence. I don't listen to a single word; I hear "startup" and my brain straight up turns off, everything that follows is muffled by white noise.

But ... Who is Ben ?

@osx94 asking the real question right there.

@osx94 I think some hotshot from Indeed he suspect everyone to know. Living in own world I guess

That precious folder with his misterious Indeed code! We are just mere mortals not worthy of even looking at it!

@cafecortado "folder" not even using a VCS... bullet dodged

What sucker shares the source code from a previous company anyway. Can you see where he works now?

@retoor I did at one point but he blocked me. 🤣🤣
