Wow I didn't realise how much money I could be saving by actually putting things in my dishwasher when I run it.
Mind-blowing right?

I used to just run my dishwasher empty every day for the fun, but now I get clean dishes too 🤯?
What a wonderful age we live in.

Thanks corporate water ad 👍

    Fill it with what? Instructions unclear.

    Dishwashers are the bane of my existence. Not because they suck, but because people suck.

    How it really works:

    * Dishes hide in the dish washer dirty for 2 days

    * People start screaming "Where is the spatula"

    * You start washing one dish at a time out of the dishwasher because "It's not full enough to run yet", but it's getting less full doing this

    * Eventually it get's run

    * Dishes hide in the dishwasher clean for 2 days

    * People start putting dirty dishes in with the clean dishes because they assume it's dirty.

    The only solution I know if is to force an automated wash every night, and put in soap every morning. But it results in washing multiple times, and washing inefficient loads. But at this point I don't care.

    @retoor I bought one (two actually) and destroyed my cupboards to make it fit. Did it for the wife under the condition that I'll never touch the thing.

    She accepted, I installed it, and now she is salty because she thought I was just kidding

    @lungdart wow, that's amazing. But who cooks?
  • 4
    Me usually.

    @lungdart missing organization imho.

    @MammaNeedHummus

    From working with larger groups of people...

    You would be terrified how many are completely unable to organize and use electric appliances efficiently.

    ... Or be organized at all.

    In my family, I'd usually (both parents working) just screamed at the top of my lungs that whoever doesn't bring the dirty dishes in the kitchen pays for new dishes.

    Otherwise there would be flies, maggots and the need for a flamethrower.

    @lungdart sounds like part of the problem could be solved by getting a smaller dishwasher to speed up the cycle

    @qwwerty this isn't a solvable problem. But I appreciate you trying to help.

    My wife has the dishwasher she wanted, and is mad she has to use it by herself while I wash the dishes the old fashion way. This is our life now.

    @lungdart so now you can compare the results from both approaches and decide which is best for you ;)

    What's best for me and what I will do out of pure stubbornness are not often aligned...
  • 1
    @lungdart unless unconscious you are the one to decide which is best for you ( we don't always get the right ones, but that way we can't blame anyone for the outcome ;} )

    @retoor be glad if you didn't have brothers and sisters who enjoyed living in a laboratory for biological evolution...

    It's funny, maybe that's the reason I have household help...

    What I especially feared was cleaning up the fridge.

    Rant was for dishwashers, but I don't wanna know how much wattage I saved by just "sterilizing" the compost zone the fridge became in regular intervals.

    :( Part of the family life I really do not miss.

    @lungdart > "Dishwashers are the bane of my existence. Not because they suck, but because people suck."

    Lived in my house for nearly 26 years, our dishwasher has been used less than 10 times (only sometimes after large family gatherings).

    My wife cooks, I clean up. That's bargain I made at the crossroads.

    I've gotten a little OCD over the years. I must rinse everything, almost a pre-wash, before I run clean+hot soapy water. Its a "you can't wash dishes in dirty water" mindset.

    ^ apparently dishwashers are more eco friendly + more hygienic + (typically) cheaper to run than hand washing: https://tomsguide.com/face-off/...

    @MammaNeedHummus it's true, you will scald yourself before you get the water as hot as a dishwasher.

    Haha, welcome to the magical world where dishwashers are not just for fun, but also miraculously clean dishes! Who would have thought it, right? It's like a two-for-one deal - clean dishes and the satisfaction of using a machine that's not just for show. But if you want to not only save money in this way, but also earn money, welcome to https://casinosanalyzer.ca/online-c... where you can find your own personal way to spend your time with benefit. By the way, I heard that if you go to casinosanalyzer while your dishwasher is washing DISHES, it will be a triple benefit
