Please tell me whats the point in knowing multiple languages that do the same thing? For example learning java and c# seems rather redundant.
I mean i could add around 20 languages but be real, i couldnt make a webserver in prolog. -
erik40415857y@BindView different solutions require different tools. I never understood the presumptious attitude some developers have regarding languages and the whole ego thing. A programming language is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less.

@erik404 im not talking about learning haskell and c++, im talking about learning haskell and f#

Hey I can only really code in PHP or Node! I'd love to learn C++ or Golang one day 😍
-
@fun2code I've done a few projects but I only know the basics :). So yeah I can write C++ but just not much complicated stuffs!
-
@linuxxx a few projects damn. I've done a full-fledge hangman app on android with music, animation, ECT... do I know java 🤔you make me question my abilities!
-
yusijs12507y@linuxxx should've done the privacy in C++ or Go then! That's how you get to learn new languages - find a fun, interesting project, and fuck around with it!
-
moort43407yIf you learn brainfuck or whitespace, then its redundant.
Most languages have their unique good points though -
naghen2087yIs it just me that it's not hard to understand *any* language or architecture?
Just give me some days free to learn and I can start easily any project... -
mundo0349787yFeeling dumb is what males you dumb, alo the fact that you thin that not knowing stuff makes you dumb, that is dumb.
Not knowing stuff makes you ignorant, and even un prepared.
Unprepared in stuff that you chose not to be prepared from.
That puts you in a really good position, just get prepare, start learning, choose something and learn it.
Now, yo are still dumb as fuck for thinking this way, so change that too. -
mundo0349787y@naghen
Sure you can "start" any project, the problem is ending it with quality.
Stop your cockiness, it will get you enemies and problems and I am sure it already has. -
@erik404 indeed, you can use a flathead screwdriver for philips screws. But a philipsheadscrewdriver will work better.

Mo matter how good you are, there will always an Asian that's better.
Just chill. Work, gain experience, knowledge, talk with role models frequently for inspiration.
You will never be the best, but people will judge you by how hard you try. So try as much as you can. -
Your skills are valuable, because you'll find that some people don't know SQL, and like myself , some people don't know Entity Framework. Other people were good and it so I learned something else. Do what you do well and find a team that compliments you.
Personally I focused on Automation scripts like python and now I'm a Senior DevOps engineer. -
Python55587yI've gotten two jobs as a developer where I didn't even know the language they hired me for (PL/SQL and ironically Python).
What I've noticed from being a developer is that it doesn't matter what you know but that you're willing to learn.
Being on devRant genuinely scares me. I mean, I know C#, Entity Framework, basic SQL, basic HTML (who doesn't?) and some Angular, but most people here know so,so much more. Maker me feel quite dumb :/
