what the future is, and where the money is, is definitely two different things. But what you can make a lot of money with as a dev, is doing bare metal stuff and dev with obscure/ancient/proprietary languages

freelancing is brutal I can tell you, being an Indian myself. You will find yourself begging for money which your clients won't want to give you.
Indians are FUCKING PATHETIC people as clients. Never want to pay people up front, only want to pay you where LITERALLY every small thing is done for them otherwise NO PAYMENT. And then when they do pay you, they'd expect 6 months of free support which if u ask money for, they will threaten to file a dispute and take all their money back. -
Sometimes they won't even pay you when the project is done. They will surely try to run away with your work. BE SUPER AWARE of that.
You will get yelled at, A LOT, threatened and emotionally manipulated by these people.
Trust me when I say this, keep freelancing as your side-hustle. Get a full time job and try to transition to a WFH job, u will have time for it then. -
I know I sound way too angry, but I was treated so poorly in my beginning days, oh man. I had to chase clients around for money like a beggar or something.
Once you work with people from EU or US, you'd never want to work with Indians again, I can tell you that straight up.
