I was really hoping we could try getting booted by Google for defaming them...Anyways the real main attraction wasn't the 'big announcement' but the bloody death match between the Java & .NET - ducklings led by @trogus & @dfox respectively. @CodeSlutLaser schnecke for me isn't something you call your girlfriend. But rather a word you use to talk about a hot girl.
But the word doesn't get used by the youth any more. At least where I live. -
@Terrestrial I've been using it for roughly 3years now, I was told by a couple girls that it's sweet, but the one girl that I do occassionally refer to as schnecke comes from a very small village - would that have something to do with it?
...I guess it's not very important, I just wanted to know how one would correlate attractiveness with a slimy asexual invertabrate ya'know? -

Germany still has some strong dialects. Region still matters more than you might think.
At least that's what I've learned from touring some of the country as a musician.
Can't tell you why it's considered sexual though. Maybe it's the slimy thing. Hehe.
It's getting weirder the more I think about it.
Maybe it's related to something sweet we eat we also call schnecke. Like a Schneckennudel.
That makes more sense to me than referring to the animal. -

At work today the guys showed me how I can listen in on calls so I can prepare myself for phone support.
We tested it through a call between two of the guys.
They started talking like "test test123 is this working"
I said yes and continued working behind my screen. They just didn't know I was still listening.
Both guys started saying stuff like "welcome to the sex hotline"
"hello and welcome to the *insert something sexual* hotline!"
One of the guys after a few minutes: why is your head so red?!
Wait.... Have you been listening along?? 😅
