@leo2807 from what I've read, Windows ME could've been decent, but Microsoft gave in to the OEMs' requests to support an old kind of drivers alongside a new kind of drivers M$ made on Windows ME.

If you had only one kind, your system would run very well, if you had the other, it'd also run very well, if you had both, you'd experience problems.

Unfortunately most people had a mix of those drivers.
