Raghnaid2977yFunny how before and during the interviews the companies are all nice and reachable, but if you're not good enough for them you get cold auto-rejection emails, often without giving room to reply back.
For this company I did an extensive art test (one of those that are multiple tests in one). I got a auto-rejection email back thanking me for visiting their studio and performing the art test there.
I was never at their studio. Which is in another country. Everything was done online. I replied back letting them know, they sent an half-assed apology. For all the work I had you could taken your time to send me a proper rejection letter!
And this is why even if I ditch freelancing and go back at applying for studios, I will say no to art tests. Either you like my portfolio and trust me, or it's something that can be done in a single hour, or you pay for the hours I spend on the test. -
Raghnaid2977y@riteshx95 Nope. We're in the same timezone. Just a little under and still smoky from all the fires.

graphs727yI got a rejection from McKinsey once that was so positive I thought I had the job for 5 lines. Those folks are evil
-
@Raghnaid I had a guy call me once to say how sorry he is but I didn't get the job... My most awkward conversation ever.
-
Raghnaid2977y@configurator I had someone call me after I did an art test and a short interview with them, and they literally said "the two other candidates did better than you"
Not sure what hurts more: being told you're not good enough or never hearing back from the company after their initial interest. -
Bazzinho67yThat's actually a relief, can't see any better way to announce a "negative" answer than encapsulate within it a reason to be happy about it.
-
raulqf3007yHaha!! Such bastards... Don't worry you will get stronger. Print those mails and put them on your wall! 💪💪
-
Tell them you are not considering the job because their HR doesn't meet your expectations.
-
Respond with: With the competency your company has with basic email, I'll consider the dual rejection a blessing.
-
At least they where decent enough to get back to you. I've had a job interview once with a company I held high because of their open source contribution and code quality. So to my knowledge it didn't go bad and they would get back in touch with me either way I got the job or not. 1year later and still haven't heard back from them. They also told me the only reason they do open source was to attract new costumers so.
-
Yea well that sucks but hey, they let you know at least. So many places you just never hear back from not even with a disclaimer like "if you don't hear from us with x then you didn't get it"
-
@Raghnaid wow, auto rejections... Most places I've dealt with just never let you know at all
