Anaeijon5147yI don't get, why a lot of new distros still base on Ubuntu, while claiming to offer latest or cutting edge software.
Why not base on Arch/Manjaro and offer rolling releases?
I don't want to go back to yet another Ubuntu variant.
They developed a own desktop? Looks exactly like default gnome3 on the screenshots... -
Froot75357y@Anaeijon Probablly because Ubuntu is easy to use and welcoming to new people who don't really want to fiddle with the OS

lxmcf199407y@Froot Ubuntu is easy but pop is aimed to the developer while being minimal, if you're a developer I think ease of use would not be as important
-
Froot75357y@BigMacca101 I disagree. Just because we are developers doesn't mean we want to tinker with our OS. "Developer" doesn't mean "I like to tinker with everything". We all have our respective fields. All in all tho Devs for sure are in a better position to deal with such stuff and there's a bigger chance a Dev might actually want to tinker with his OS. But it's not a given
