Thanks Android 14. Now we have to install outdated apk's with adb and a flag 🙄. May apply to devRant too.

    fuck that especially because there is no good alternative to calDev sync. Let me decide. I don't care if she's old.

    Android is so garbage. The rooting guy disappeared reeee

    Maybe there will be a Linux phone

    In case it isn't abundantly clear already, Google will impose as many crappy restrictions as they can just-so get away with.

    It started in 2014 with Android 4.4 blocking write access to MicroSD.

    If your phone is not rooted, you don't own it.

    Sad but not surprising. This is a living API and it was meant to be one when the decommissioned versions were released. The fact that support for these old APIs hasn't been removed from the codebase yet is unusual. Closed source abandonware eventually just stops working. Given the pace at which cyber security advances, this is the only way a networked system can work.

    @qwwerty i'm thinking of making an app that uses adb locally which allows to select an apk, use it to connect to yourself and then install the app with the flag.

    yes stupid. But easier and faster than always connecting with a pc or som like that.

    @kiki of all shit. It's the least shit.

    @ostream don't hate me for this. I actually like one ui. Yea Sam shit and Google shit. Sam is hot tho. And i like some of the nifty features. If my phone runs out of updates in ~5 years. I will change. But now no. Only uninstalling system apps i dont need/want with adb.

    @lorentz okay. but i shall be the one that decides. :>. And sth in skyRant broke too. I will have to fix it ASAP. As logging in breaks the app for some reason.

    @jestdotty pretty sure some linux distros already made a mobile version. They are pretty much unstable, undoptimised and pretty much other than the browser, non useable. Really hope this changes in the future.

    @joewilliams007 calDev sync?

    @j0n4s calDav* oops :D

    @joewilliams007 why not DavX5? https://www.davx5.com/

    @j0n4s kinda had issues with it. And caldav sync has been super reliable and i like the wide customization options.

    Just managed to install it with the adb flag. And also led me to debloat my phone while i was at it 😄.
