JsonBoa30141yYep, demographic diversion tactics (dezinformatsiya). Why worry about corporations avoiding taxes and worker rights when you can worry about Austrian robots from the future who can look scaaaary with AI chats!!!

Hazarth95221y@jestdotty I agree, though fascism is the colaboration between weak entities to form a strong unit, so big gov bribing big corps or vice versa isnt fascism.
In this case what they do is simply collude/conspire against the people to enforce control covertly and to manipulate them. Though I think this has been the case with pretty much every regime we ever had. The rich want to become richer and all that. The rest of the people are just cattle to be herd. -
Hazarth95221yYeah, they always do this. And It's not just AI. Once you start looking for it you'll see similar patterns in environment topics, social topics, crime topics... Everything that can be done to divert the focus from the obvious real problems is done. And they always make it seem like It's us, the normal folk, that are somehow responsible, or in the worst case It's no ones fault.
Honestly whenever you see corporations talk about some big issue, you can be pretty sure It's either to gain money or to retain them. Unsurprisingly, that's why they exist in the first place. -
Hazarth95221y@jestdotty Well I'm just focusing on the origin of the word "fascism" which came from italian "fascio" Literally talking about a bundle of rods and figuratively meaning "strength in unity". That's how fascism was conceived in the first place. Historically speaking, before fascists had any wins and gained any power, it was always a group of joined groups of people or groups of small associations that rebelled against the status quo and wanted change. They grouped together and formed "fascis". Fascism therefore means a doctrine or a belief system of the fasci. It's not really a monopoly against citizens, it's quite the opposite, trying to form a monopoly *of* citizens to stand against (usually oppressive) governments. We all know how that ended but alas, the road to hell and good deeds...
Anyway, maybe I'm missing the analogy somehow, but not etymologically nor historcally would I call a government colluding with a corporation a "fascism" -
Hazarth95221y@jestdotty pretty much! Or their entire movement is quite misinformed :) though yeah, It's clear that antifa is against the specific set of fascis that took control in ww2. They would however support and even join similar modern groups. It's comical because if the italian branch of antifa formed and named a group consisting of them and other modern socialist movements they would end up literally forming a fascist group, although probably named differently, but with shared original ideaology! I find etymology of words fascinating xD

I'm pretty sure the talk about the dangers of AI is nonsense. Private Eye magazine was dead on with this:
