They're not saying it for you, they're saying it for management and other important people so they look productive and are trusted to self organise
You have to play the game in the corporate world, especially in software.
How else are non technical people supposed to know about the "wins" the expensive dev team are making every sprint? -

I never really thought about this, but "fix" probably invokes a sense of less-than-adequate performance. Somebody made a mistake. We're solving problems that should not have to be solved. I think I'll adopt "win" in the future.

In a world of darkness and negativity I would rather be the light, than to be insecure about how an immature person thinks of me.
I work with UK devs and them calling every little fix "win" makes me cringe ngl.
"Oh I fixed that issue yesterday. That's a small win".
Cringe all around.
