Well guys I was wrong the other day, Laravel is the most beautiful PHP Framework I've used to date.2

I just trained a neural network to recognize if a word is uppercase. I'm sure it will be useful at some point.5

I recently decided to look at some old questions I asked on Stackoverflow as a beginner dev. No wonder nobody answered the questions. They made no sense at all. I have no idea what I was even trying to ask. Thus is the life of a n00b d3v.

When someone says they are a 'HACKER' whereas all they do is watch videos of 'How to hack a GMail account' on YouTube and read 'Learn to hack in 24 hours' , while having no knowledge of networking, security protocols and ports.10

C++ rant, but I'm sure it is similar in other languages.
I cannot stand +=,-=; I understand it is shorter, but for some reason I would prefer seeing: sum = sum + 1; or the like. Am I just too much of a newb to appreciate it, or is it just preference.13 -
A blend of Laracasts and Laravels surprisingly good documentation has led to this beautiful moment.8

Everytime I tell someone I write scripts and test security of new hardware/software, I get
"oh that's so cool, what's that called?"
"penetration testing"

beginner coder: figures out how to write a feature
average coder: knows a few different ways to write a feature. but not quite sure on which one to use.
master coder: meditates before starting a project. closes his eyes to map out the entire infrastructure of the project.
god coder: gets paid ALOT of money to guide people on the right to do it.2 -

People are posting their setups so I thought I'd post this.
It's a 2012 MacBook Pro, 13 inch. I put 16GB ram and some solid state in there just so it gets the job done.
When I was a freshman in high school, my dad saw something in me that he believed in (and I didn't). He decided to put his money where his heart was. He told me that he would go out and buy me a computer, and I wouldn't have to pay him back, if I would work hard at programming to pay for my own college.
His investment payed off. I just graduated high school and started a job last week that will get me through college debt-free through the gap year that I'm taking. This machine's getting a little old, but it means a lot to me. It reminds me that my dad believed in me even when I didn't. 🖖🏼12
