@irene I feel like my surface pro 4 is the nicest thing I own. My gaming machine is a beast but not nearly as awesome in every other way. They aren't cheap, but if you trick it out, you aren't upset with what you get.

@woops I agree blender has a steep learning curve. But i wouldn't at all call it trash. Just not plug and play friendly.
-
@3141 every step of the process will be an "adventure" I know enough to be dangerous in Linux land, I expect by the end of this I might have a legitimate understanding of it all. I'm either going to learn or cry myself to sleep for a few months. I was planning on putting devstack dual booted on my surface pro 4, does that sound like a reasonable way to begin? Or should I toss a full openstack up on an iMac? The laptop has way better hardware, but I'm finding a lot of conflicting advice on which is better to work with first.

The problem is the sites don't monitor the ads and they are a massive security risk. The adserver gets jacked and is either mining cryptocurrency, or delivering cryptoware. I'll keep my pc virus and add free thanks.

Would pay so much money for this setup on a surface keyboard.

All chicks know chicks and may hook a dude up.
-
The bad news is: you will eventually do this again :/ backup regularly
-
Tech writing is even more similar. We write in xml, have contracts and deliverables with timetables.
-
Each new name gets large changes to the requirements doc, with no changes to the dates.

Why don't all google apps have dark mode???
-
Go to a supermarket and buy an enormous bag of rice for a Very few dollars, and your set.
-
For being so full of yourself, you may want to note: they didn't buy a new cpu. They bought a new tower, or case, or more likely just brought one in from another area. This was a wasteful and uncool thing to do...
-
Well most Samsung charges have fast charge, while other Android chargers have other "quick" charge setups, so I can still see use-cases
-
@AndSoWeCode rtfm made me put off trying learn to use Linux for years. (Late 90s when Google was not what it is now)
-
@AleCx04 understandable, but at least you tried. And some people fail to remember they can make more money with the same people. Rather than how much they save by firing them. When doing the work, look for stuff that you can't automate that they might start working on instead.

One can suggest to the boss that those people whose jobs are being replaced are known quantities with knowledge of the company. They may have some great workers that would feel crazy loyal if not laid off, and not have to waste money on another new hire that doesn't work out.
Basically remind them that people are capable of more than one job, and just because you don't need them to do job A, doesn't mean the business can't make more money (for the same expense as currently) for having them do job B. -
@demiko bash and vim and everything else Linux, on Windows.

Settings and options: when to download, download only on wifi, how much to cache.
As for contributing: why not cache the replies and submits?
I do a lot more lurking myself so it sounds wonderful to me :/ -
@devios1 90% of my day job is xml :(
-
I'm with @Bitkris, explain why it's a bad idea and how these other options are better. Then let him choose for you.
-
@devios1 I think the stuff in comments are my domain, and everything else is to be code. But I was started in Pascal with a teacher who cared about indentation, and everything else.
-
@wildcard that is a cool idea
-
@DavidKevork a decent network administrator will find the machine name as well. Once you start Mac swapping, I would start hardware tracing. See what hardware you are connecting to and eventually catch you via physically being in the same place.
-
I'm definitely not looking for ads. I pay the sub. I'm willing to buy apps, I'm not willing to see ads.
-
@SpencerBeige it's audio, not visual meditation. Insomniacs got me started using it. Seems to work like a champ for me most days. (There was an insomniac iama on Reddit with it suggested by multiple people)
-
It's also the top growing language on stackoverflows tracking stats I believe. And second most in use I believe.
-
@tw17 the surface line from Microsoft is solid, though Linux can be work to get right.
-
@heikomat I still don't trust them, public ones have been getting hit. Running my own is an option but yeah, a pita.
