This is wrong because you are supposed to be the unsung hero that brings sweets and snacks and turns the morning in a 4 hour break. At least that is what happens here in Italy and I'm not complaining.
If you have any reason to celebrate bring food to the office pls -
@F9lke Sorry, kinda missed out on your reply. Zelda BotW and Super Mario Odissey are a must play. I find great joy in playing indie games because I find they fit the handheld mode really well (stardew valley, hollow knight, shovel knight, enter the gungeon..) I have these on Steam as well but I did not regret buying them again as I broke the playtime easily. I'm thinking to get Octopath Traveler and I'm currently playing the remastered trilogy of Crash Bandicoot.
@achintyakumar well, I have most of the chunk by a single train, but about 40 mins one way are by metro and I have to change between two lines. At some point. I'm planning to move with my GF, what helds me back is that Italy is not a high paying area but renting costs in Milan are absurd (especially compared to the average buying power). We can afford it together with enough margin to live and even save, but I want to build up some savings beforehand for eventual rough times. -
I have a 4h15m total daily commute, and I join in this too. But i'm more grateful for my Nintendo switch
-
@gitreflog ? I'm not asking for help dude.
-
@DuckDuckWent ah, I usually have a triple boot with W10/Debian and a third Linux distro which is more on a rotation. Been using Fedora a lot.
-
Windows 10: I hate design inconsistency due to legacy UIs, closed-sourceness and hardware makers that break your system with half assed drivers.
Debian: best distro logo. I fucking hate when something breaks and it takes me a day to fix it.
I just realized I don't really love any OS. -
Just want to point out that Minecraft had in-game store for console version before Microsoft bough it.

Good thing of living in Italy is there is only one, exquisite, type of coffee. Bad thing of living in Italy is there is only one type of coffee.
Btw we called cappuccino that way to allow everyone to distinguish it from coffee when talking. I've never witnessed someone reply with "cappuccino?" at a coffe request, at the most asking if you want either grappa (alcohol) or a splash of milk in it. -
MacBook touchscreen? 🤔

Damn I would never be able to make so many stickers look so cool

@finiteAutomaton my package has been delivered and I can't wait to get home

I am a XPS user so I'm biased to my beloved 15. Altought if you plan to stress it a lot I'd get it only if you can do hardware tweaks or have friends who can (repasting, thermal padding etc) as the solutions with dedicated GPU tend to throttle a lot during hotter weather.
It comes down to a lot of factors like budget, expected life of the laptop, form factor and screen size, keyboard preferences... Pump out some info and I'll post some suggestions.
Of course webdev is not super duper demanding, but high end laptops let you feel their performance even in small tasks. -
You are now switch brother! 👊👊👊
-
@senzory There's a company branched out from Zurich's ETH which specializes on data analysis, machine learning and optimization for chemical and biochemical process industry. I'm freshening my python and trying to get some basis on ML to push for an interview there.

@AlexDeLarge fucking on point

@Snatched nvm seems its basically algebrae

Can you elaborate what is discrete mathematics? English course naming is slightly off from what i use in my language

As a scientist with a passion for coding I enjoy the company of software engineers with a passion for science

Is that a keyboard cover?

I would love to know the criteria. 90% of the companies here have done jackshit to innovate, but maybe my concept of innovation is way too high.

As an Italian minecrafter and gamer, I apologize on behalf of my animalesque companions

@gitpull ?
-
@darxor the fact that I write code doesn't make me a normal dev. Designing and building applications for numerical simulations and engineering has much different challenges and approaches compared to more canonical software engineering or webdev jobs. Even if it would be a job regarding the languages I'm comfortable with, I'd just lack the experience and thought process needed for it since I cover a very small nieche and I'd need to learn everything from scratch. Any self-learned programmer would simply do a much better job than mine.

Bookmarking porn is a good habit. It just feels like "hey, this video was really nice. Thank you for your work".

Wear gloves like a diva?

Your Mac is the only Mac I like 😍
And yes be faithful, only 95% of the world population sucks ass. The 5% that is not might be worth tolerating the rest :) -
@gitpush well, so much from expecting honesty. I'm sorry for whoever they are gonna send, I'm gonna sit there stalking him the whole time.

@DuckyMcDuckFace I know, never had any issue with actual Dell support. Sometimes their authorised centres and repairmen leave to be desired.
